i am always looking for a new little craft project.
i have an slight obsession with using old t-shirts…
i saw this diy over on one of my favorite blogs, my latest obsession.
you should check it out,
as she has the most adorable outfits, craft projects, and little family!
here is my attempt at the diy t-shirt fringe vest:
grab an old t-shirt and pair of scissors
(the shirt can be plain, or have an emblem)
begin by cutting off the hem
now, cut off the sleeves and collar of the shirt
next, make one cut up the front, center of the t-shirt
(be sure to only cut the front)
flip shirt over in order to begin cutting fringe strips
make 1-1 1/2 inch cuts to the desired length
(my vest has long fringe, but yours can be as long or short as you like)
lastly, pull on strips to get them to curl
(i had to make a few adjustments to the front of the vest as well…
i wanted the vest to have thinner sleeves,
so i cut a v in the front)
the finished product!
i apologize for the poor photo quality,
but i am running late for work – eek!
xoxo.
