playing with prints

i’ve always been a fan of mixing prints (who knew plaid and leopard could
compliment one another?!) but i have to admit,
it can be intimidating!
a few tips? when playing with prints, i try to stay within the
same color family. my heels, for example, have black and nude,
which go well with the black and bright red of the plaid dress.
additionally, the size of the varying prints matters;
the plaid isn’t too much, or too busy, with the more simple
leopard print on my heels.
lastly, less is more! i wouldn’t want a sweater, handbag
or jacket with a print. mixing just the two prints is plenty!
if you’re just starting out with the print mixing trend,
i recommend a print with something striped
(whether a striped top, pant, or skirt). it’s quick, simple,
and i swear, stripes go with everything!
do you have any tips for print mixing? one of my absolute
favorite blogs that features print mixing is fashionista, alena
of modaprints. she’s adorable!
