“’twas the night before christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that st. nicholas soon would be there; the children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; […] christmas pajamas for all, and to all a good night.” (source)
christmas is four sleeps away, and this girl has yet to begin shopping. #sendhelp
^^ a tasty holiday treat to complement my holiday pajamas! ^^
we plan to stay local this year, and we don’t have any plans christmas day. my mom and i often joke with one another, saying, “why can’t we stay home all day—lounge in our pajamas, eat christmas cookies, and watch cheery hallmark movies?” for the first time (ever), i think we may actually do this!
throughout my childhood—and into my adult years—one of my favorite holiday traditions has been receiving a pair of christmas pajamas from my family. (you may or may not find this surprising, but many a time, said pajamas are dachshund-themed.) we open our jammies on christmas eve. it’s a simple, yet festive exchange, and i look forward to it each year. my dad, brother, and boyfriend greg also participate in the pajama-gifting tradition.
i’m a bit of a pajama hoarder. (you can never have too many cozy options, right?) my mom and i are partial to p.j. salvage, as they often feature dachshunds. we also love pajamas from target! today’s dog jammies are from two years ago—despite much love and wear, they’ve held up well. i enjoy wearing them as a set and as separates!
this year, i thought it would be fun to round up a few of my favorite pajamas, loungewear, and bedtime essentials. (and if you’re as behind on shopping as your girl here, several of these items can still be delivered before christmas.)

what are some of your holiday traditions? do you participate in a pajama exchange? one of my coworkers challenged me $10 to wear my christmas jammies to work, and i think i may have to indulge. =)
