on our drive to eastern washington, tom and i passed signs for the chelan county fair.
i begged him to let us stop by for a bit.
i was hoping to eat an elephant ear and perhaps go on a ride or two.
it proved to be quite an experience, to say the least.
we didn’t make it on any of the rides because someone… ahem… tom…
does not like rides.
i, however, wanted to go on the pirate ship, ring of fire, suspension swings, etc.
instead i was forced to look at copious birds (my worst nightmare)
and watch a lamb auction.
i asked why so many people wanted pet lambs, only to find out these were not going home to be man’s new best friend.
the same was true for the pigs, cows, sheep, and other animals.
we ended the day with delicious white chocolate covered strawberries,
as i tried to distract myself from the thought of those poor, helpless animals with a treat.

Ahhh that lamb is just freaky! And I hate to admit it, but I'm terrified by the thought of riding in those temporary fair rides…scary. Otherwise it seems like fun! That pumpkin is huge!
jenn, i completely agree – so freaky! the pumpkin was GIGANTIC haha!
Looks like a fantastic time. We need to spend more time in small towns in WA. They are very unique.
it was a lot of fun, thank you! and i completely agree. they are unique with so much to offer 🙂
