entire outfit? forever 21
white tank: $2.50
+ white polka dot shirt: $10.50
+ peach flounce skirt: $13.50
+ bracelet: $5.50
+ jellies: $22.50
= $54.50
that’s not bad for an entire outfit (shoes and accessories included), right?
i often see coworkers, close girlfriends, and people i simply pass on the street
and envy their style.
i think to myself, “i want that” or “i want to look like that;”
realistically, i cannot afford either.
while i would love to own fancy handbags and designer shoes
and brand name makeup,
life as a teacher doesn’t exactly pay the big bucks.
however, i am able to shop and dress in a manner i like at an affordable price.
it simply takes patience, creativity, and a little motivation.
this outfit for example, is fun for spring, was relatively inexpensive,
and each of the pieces can be worn together or separately with other items.
thus, they are practical items to have purchased.
forever 21 is one of my favorite shopping destinations,
as are local thrift and consignment shops, target, kohl’s,
and the clearance rack at nordstrom rack and other department stores.
where are some of your favorite places to shop while on a budget?
i am always in need of new ideas and inspiration!
xoxo.

So cute!
The polka dots and the bright skirt are genius together. Unfortunately, Kohl's, which I enjoy a lot, is nowhere near our place. But I do like TJ Maxx, Target and Ross for affordable fashion.
No, teachers don't make a lot, but it's one of the most respectable jobs out there. Plus, teachers are actually one of the smartest group of people.
